Mike and I have been heads down writing, sleeping, brushing our teeth, and spending time with our super freaking supportive loved ones ❤️❤️❤️
Just some routine instrument maintenance while performing our hearts out
There were staged readings and there will be more of those, too! More posts dedicated to those adventures, soon. But first, an ask!
(We drafted this before what happened last weekend, so…yah)
It’s an important topic in any election year, but especially this one: reproductive health. I'll spare the greater internet the details of my own personal journey (but if you ask me IRL I'm an open book! seriously, don't be shy!). One thing my most recent experience reminded me is that there’s no perfect path, you can only control very little of what happens, and, yah, living out a non-traditional life is still pretty confusing to most people, especially health professionals.
That said, the stories are out there. Had I asked more people about their own, I may have been less blindsided by my own eventful moments. So I’m hoping this call scratches the surface of what it’s like to be part of an ever-evolving human kind. Ok, I’m done being mysterious. Here’s what’s happening, y’all!
In November this year, we'll be part of the PlaygroundSF Innovator Showcase, an honor and a privilege of ours. We're excited to put on works that make passive impossible. And we'd like to invite you to be a part of it. We're hoping to find a good mix of short plays (10-25 minutes) to put onstage right before the Presidential election. An anthology of shorts that explore the theme of Reproductive Health.
And so, a call to our fellow playwrights: send us your scripts! You'll be invited to our workshop with us and, together, we can drive awareness and build community by putting on a shorts show in the Fall. Heck, maybe we can move the needle ever so slightly by raising funds for folks like Exhale Pro-Voice and the ACLU.
Excited for what we can do with you!
