Hey everyone!
It's been a wild, creative ride here at Network Effects Theater, and we're thrilled to give you the lowdown on everything we've been cooking up in theater, writing, and art. For those just joining our crew, Ipsheeta and Mike started NFX because we're fascinated by how the digital world shakes things up. We're all about making theater that truly gets you thinking and feeling.
Join Us for the next Artistry Salon!
We'd love for you to join us for our upcoming Artistry Salon – a special evening for connection, creativity, and good conversation.
Come hear/see your work in its development stage with a supportive group of other artists. We've cold-read stage plays and screenplays, tabletop D&D game campaigns, marveled at 2D & 3D visual art, and heard excerpts from children's books and business books! If you're working on something, bring it! If you just want to appreciate others' work, come too!
Can't wait to hear the latest on everyone's creative projects and pursuits!
When: June 24th, evening, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Where: 5500 Doyle Street, my private office entrance
Cost: $10 donation per person (NOTAFLOF work exchange available)
As always, come hungry! Invite a fellow artist 🧡 Let us know when you've got something to share!
What We've Been Up To & What's Next
We've been busy!
Shoot a Film this Year? ✅ We made a movie, y’all! "Loop" is a full-circle (pun intended) moment for NFX: the script was shared by Tanika at an Artistry Salon (see below), Mike directed, and the cast and crew were all from our Meisner cohort at Empowerhouse! Plus, we even shot it right here at the Doyle Street office (rent for your own projects!). Check out the first cut:
Let this be a challenge: conceive, develop, and produce your art, no matter how small or ambitious!
Ipsheeta recently took the stage as Mrs. Gloop (Augustus Gloop's mom!) in the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory musical. It was a fantastic community theater run with the Stapleton School. What a blast!
Mike's play "Boogie" got accepted into the prestigious 50th Annual Concord Theatricals Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival! He'll be directing his piece in NY at the end of July.
On a more personal note, our lives aligned to take a short vacation together in Japan with our wonderful SOs. They are truly our better halves.
